About Aruba Conservation Foundation

Aruba Conservation Foundation (ACF) is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to conserving Aruba’s natural ecosystems. The foundation manages protected areas across the island and states that its conservation responsibilities cover nearly 25% of Aruba, together with four Marine Protected Areas. Its work includes protected-area management, conservation of habitats and species, environmental education, research, and efforts to encourage sustainable interaction with Aruba’s natural environment.

One of the best-known areas managed by the Aruba Conservation Foundation is Parke Nacional Arikok, located in northeastern Aruba. The park covers approximately 34 square kilometres and contains a variety of geological, cultural and natural features. Official sources identify caves, rock drawings, dry riverbeds and coastal locations such as Moro, Boca Prins and Dos Playa among its attractions. Its landscape supports drought-resistant plants as well as numerous bird, reptile and mammal species.

Visitors can explore the protected landscape independently or participate in guided nature experiences offered by ACF. Current guided hikes include routes such as Cunucu Arikok and Rooi Tambu & Dos Playa, with distance, duration and difficulty varying by experience. A valid conservation pass is required to enter Parke Nacional Arikok. ACF currently lists its day pass at US$22 per adult, while children younger than 17 receive free admission.

The San Fuego Visitor Center is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while ACF’s current Contact and Experiences information lists Vader Piet from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visitors must respect the rules established to protect the area’s ecosystems: disturbing, trapping, collecting or feeding flora and fauna is prohibited, and ATVs, UTVs and motorbikes are not permitted in protected nature areas. Checking the Aruba Conservation Foundation’s official website before visiting is recommended for current passes, experiences and operating information.
