Urataka Center

Urataka Center is a family-owned bar and restaurant in the countryside of Santa Cruz, Aruba. The business traces its history to 1946, when it began as the Via Urataka Rum Shop. It later developed into a restaurant with a commercial kitchen and outdoor dining patio while retaining its connection to Aruba’s traditional cunucu-bar culture.

Pizza is a central part of the Urataka Center Aruba menu. According to an official Aruba Tourism Authority profile, pizza was introduced after the business acquired pizzeria equipment and brought an Italian-Venezuelan pizza maker to Aruba to train the team in making dough and sauce from scratch. The recipe has since evolved into Urataka Center’s own style.

Current official tourism information highlights Aruban-style pizza, the homemade Super Burger served on a homemade bun, the Super Burger Pizza and Pizza Paranda. The Aruba Tourism Authority also identifies wings and burgers among the restaurant’s notable menu items, while snacks served at the original bar include croquettes, empanadas and cheese balls.

Guests can eat on the open-air patio or at the old-school bar. Urataka Center is located in Santa Cruz on the road leading toward the main entrance of Arikok National Park, giving the restaurant a countryside setting away from Aruba’s principal resort districts.

The Aruba Tourism Authority currently also lists a Best Pizza Combo promotion on Monday and Thursday, when a large pizza is paired with a two-liter bottle of Coca-Cola during the advertised promotional period.
