About this experience
Rancho Notorious offers guided mountain bike tours in Aruba through the island’s Cunucu countryside and northern coastal terrain. Routes are selected according to each rider’s cycling ability and begin from the Rancho Notorious area in Noord. The operator states that its tours can accommodate different skill levels, while more challenging single-track terrain is available for experienced mountain bikers.
The standard route follows countryside and donkey trails toward Alto Vista Chapel, the first of two planned sightseeing stops. From there, riders continue along Aruba’s northeastern coastline before climbing the Coral Plateau to the California Lighthouse, where the second scheduled stop takes place. The return route passes areas around Arashi, Boca Catalina and Malmok before heading back into the Cunucu.
Rancho Notorious currently provides Trek and Scott aluminum-frame mountain bikes with front suspension. Lightweight Trek helmets are included, although riders may also bring their own helmet. Cyclists who use clip-in pedals and cycling shoes may bring them, and the operator states that its team can install the pedals on the supplied bike.
The minimum age for the mountain bike tour is 14 years. When booking, riders are asked to provide their height, weight and skill level so that bike sizing and route selection can be prepared appropriately. A refreshment is included in the tour.
